The Impact of Body Language and Power Posture
Our body language not only influences how others perceive us, but also has a profound effect on how we see and feel about ourselves. Especially in situations where we need to appear confident—such as job interviews, public speaking, or entering a new environment—our posture plays a crucial psychological and biological role.
What Is Power Posture?
Research by social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows that body positions known as "power poses" can actually boost a person's self-confidence. Even if you do not feel confident, adopting a confident posture can increase testosterone (the confidence hormone) in the brain while lowering cortisol (the stress hormone).
